On International Children’s Day, Romanian and Ukrainian children hosted in the SOS Children’s Village Bucharest enjoy a well-equipped, colorful and safe playground. With the thought of the joy we will bring to the children, we answered affirmatively to the call of SOS Children’s Villages Romania to refurbish the existing playground. And we would not have succeeded without the volunteers from Bosch Group in Romania who contributed with their energy and time.

There is always room for improvement when it comes to the educational system. And yet, all too often, much of the energy is diverted to find the responsible when things don’t work out. Or simply “we can’t, there is nothing to be done” seems to be the most convenient explanation. Therefore, we will always support initiatives that propose different solutions to problems, shortcomings that seem unresolved. Boovie, a book trail festival, has become a real phenomenon, motivating students to (re) discover the pleasure of reading.

Started as a class project in 2015 at the initiative of Carmen Ion, teacher at the Pedagogical College “Spiru Haret” in Focșani, Boovie has now the status of an international festival, being also the largest extracurricular event in Romania.

We are excited to support the 7th edition of the Boovie 2022 Book-Trailer Contest. Boovie gives high school and high school students the chance to take on the roles of involved and aware readers, actors, screenwriters, directors or cameramen, in order to create connections and challenge participants to push their imagination in a modern way. In 2021, out of 230 teams initially registered, 161 completed the trailer, i.e. about 1,000 people. During the Festival organized in Focșani, 90 teams were present.

Fundația Bosch România supports Științescu Cluj program – Level B: Robotics and Digital Literacy Workshops implemented by the Cluj Community Foundation. Thus, approximately 100 high school students from 5 schools in Cluj County (rural and small urban areas) will participate in robotics or coding workshops. According their age, students will learn about Edison, Nervous Bird and Dashing Raptor robots and learn how to assemble and program Codey Rocky sensors.

The digital literacy workshop is structured in six modules of one hour and 20 minutes each, and students will learn Scratch Programming.

In case of emergencies, we will always partner with other organizations or institutions with experience and expertise in managing them.

We responded to the call for action of the Red Cross Alba to join the campaign Humanity has no borders for the benefit of the civilian population affected by the war in Ukraine. Our financial support will be redirected for the purchase of medical devices.

We also support the efforts of the International Medical Rescue Association in managing and coordinating accommodation in Cluj County for refugees from Ukraine. At the same time, the Association also provides emergency medical assistance to refugees. As a result of the United for Ukraine campaign, 3.173 refugees were accommodated in Cluj County and received 3 meals a day and emergency medical care.

Four new organizations are now part of the Generation Centers community, implemented by the The Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation with the support of Fundația Bosch România. Thus, the organizations benefit from resources and knowledge to implement intergenerational education in the social centers in the community, creating a space where children and seniors have the opportunity to collaborate.

Seniors from the community of social centers in Boținda, Blaj, Buziaș and Bucharest are invited to discover the framework of intergenerational activities, to meet the staff and children who are part of the social project, to find out information on how to get involved and to register as volunteers. For those interested, the Open Doors Day is organized in each locality, between April 29 and May 6.

Education plays an extremely important role when it comes to reaching full potential. Thus, we support educational initiatives aimed at guaranteeing access to education for the most disadvantaged children and young people.

Fundația Bosch România is funding the project Learning and Support Spaces for Children in Day Centres implemented by the CONCORDIA Humanitarian Organization. Children who benefit from “school after school” services within the Day Centres in Ploiești (Casa Austria) and in Odobești will enjoy adequate learning spaces equipped with appropriate furniture and technology. Children will also benefit from a range of educational and leisure activities.
