Through the umbrella Program EduCare, Fundația Bosch România supports sustainable initiatives in the field of education with a focus on guaranteeing and improving access to education, as well as preparing and developing education for the future. In this connection, we became one of the funding donors of the 5th edition of the Științescu Timișoara program. Dedicated to educational projects in the fields of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics), Științescu aims to cultivate student’s passion within these areas.

The direct beneficiaries can be students aged between 6 and 19, from Arad and Timis counties. This fifth edition’s program provides grants totaling 175,000 lei for the most creative project proposals for the education of the future and it aims to expand even more in rural areas.

The effects of this emergency are likely to last and therefore it is important to centralize and coordinate all the dedicated initiatives to ensure that we meet the needs, not just for the moment.

Fundatia Bosch Romania funded the Task Force program, through which Code4Romania responds with digital solutions to emergencies and humanitarian crises, including the ecosystem of digital solutions developed within the context in Ukraine. This ecosystem helps to provide qualitative information on the current situation and effects of war, assistance in managing the critical needs of refugees, resources and capacity for local authorities, support for civil society and refugee in accessing available services.

Children and mothers who have left Ukraine are among the most vulnerable. For them it is important to be safe, to have stability for a longer period of time. Thus, we got involved in supporting the Emergency Fund dedicated to children from Ukraine runned by SOS Children’s Villages Romania. Refugee children and their mothers are hosted in the 3 SOS villages in Bucharest, Cisnadie and Bacau, receiving hot meals and all the necessities of daily living, as well as social and psychological counseling and educational support.

In the context of an emergency situation, every donation counts. We have promptly responded to the call for action from the authorities and we have donated 250 sets of mattresses and warm blankets to Siret City Hall. Moreover, we have donated hygiene items and other essential items.

Another need that was reported to us, both at the border points with Ukraine and in the shelters for refugees, was the lack of hot meal. Thus, we joined the #SolidarSocial program through which the Adi Hădean Association meets this need. Our financial support meant approx. 2,300 servings of food.
