Inspiring Teachers: A New Professional Development Opportunity for Schools in Timiș County
The Bosch Reading Fund is about more than books. For books to truly reach children and become meaningful tools for learning and development, teachers also need the knowledge and skills to turn them into relevant reading experiences.
That is why schools in Timiș County benefiting from the Bosch Reading Fund have access to a new professional development opportunity: the “Inspiring Teachers – Literacy, Critical and Creative Thinking” workshop, organized by InfinitEdu Association with the support of the Bosch Romania Foundation.
The workshop is aimed at primary school teachers and librarians working with students from preparatory class to 4th grade. It focuses on developing key skills that children need to practice continuously: reading comprehension, critical thinking and creative thinking.
The workshop has 25 places, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
From Books to Learning Experiences
During the workshop, participants will explore the concept of literacy and its main areas of intervention and will work hands-on with books from the reading collections received by the schools.
They will discover methods and techniques that can be applied in the classroom, create educational resources to support literacy skills, and learn how to design assessment items aligned with the PIRLS and PISA frameworks.
Another important benefit is access to resources and to a professional learning community where teachers and librarians can exchange ideas, experiences and good practices.
Through initiatives like this, the Bosch Reading Fund aims not only to improve children’s access to books, but also to strengthen the capacity of the adults who work with them to use reading as a tool for learning and development.
For us, a book truly reaches a child when there is also an adult who helps them discover everything they can find within its pages.
