40 Teachers from Timiș County Embark on a New Literacy Journey

Between 31 August and 4 September 2026, 40 teachers from 12 educational institutions in Timiș County took part in the workshop “Teachers Who Inspire – Literacy, Critical and Creative Thinking”, organized by Bosch Romania Foundation together with InfinitEdu Association.

Over the course of five days, the teachers worked alongside facilitators Cătălina Costea and Daniela Stoicescu, practicing literacy methods and techniques using texts such as The Smartest Giant in Town, The Chameleon, Antarctica, and Towards the South Pole. The aim is for these methods to reach the classroom and help students better understand what they read while developing their critical and creative thinking skills.

For us, this initiative is closely connected to the Bosch Reading Fund. We had already met many of the participating schools through this programme, including through Bosch Library, the component dedicated to school and community libraries. One of the training sessions took place in the library in Pesac, created through Bosch Library.

In this way, books and reading spaces meet teachers and the methods that can turn them into meaningful learning experiences for children.

And the collaboration does not stop here. The teachers have remained connected through a dedicated communication group, where they can share their classroom experiences and how they are applying the methods they learned. In addition, with the support of the primary education inspectors, the literacy course “I Understand What I Read” has been submitted to the Timiș County Teacher Training Centre (CCD Timiș) for approval/accreditation.

Trust and long-term partnerships are at the heart of how we develop initiatives within the Bosch Reading Fund. We want every collaboration to grow over time and to respond as effectively as possible to the needs of schools and children.
